Best sushi restaurant ever! The service was excellent, food was great, everything was amazing. It also has a very nice ambiance as well. I highly recommend the temptation roll, crunchy calirfornis roll and hamachi carpaccio. The desserts are also really good. I recommend either the cheesecake or mochi ice cream. Must come back!

Seiya is one of my favorite sushi spots in the Bay Area simply because you really cannot go wrong with any of the dishes here. It's always worth the 1hr drive to eat here, especially to see my favorite sushi chef Hiro! Summary: The fresh ingredients blend really well with the flavors and the plating adds a beautiful presentation aspect to the dishes. Great place for a date night or special event. Parking is very limited in the back lot, but if you go after 6pm, street parking is pretty available. Food: 4.5/5 Everything that my friends and I have tried over the course of 2 dinners has been lovely. On top of the amazing flavor combinations and fresh ingredients, the chefs' attention to detail really shines through each dish. The rolls are really the way to go in my opinion to get the most bang for your buck as it is definitely a splurge type meal. The prices for some of the dishes is a little on the pricier side, so that's where 4.5 came from. Get a few of them and share, it's definitely worth the money. Space: 4/5 Although it's a little small, the decor and ambiance makes for an intimate and wonderful space for a special occasion. But it's a great place in general for a nice night out. Both times that I went, we got reservations (which I highly recommend) for their private room. It's right next to the chefs and we fit 6 people in the space but could easily have fit another 2 people without feeling super cramped. Without a reservation, I heard it can be a fairly long wait because the space doesn't accommodate for a lot of people/larger parties. The parking lot in the back is always crowded, so street parking is probably going to be your best bet. Staff: 5/5 Everyone is super friendly and super attentive. Even in their private room, we never had to get up and flag them down, they kept our water cups/pitcher filled, and consistently checked in on us. The chefs did an amazing job with the plating and it was cool to be able to watch them work from the private room as well. (Much love to Hiro!)

Definitely a splurge, but pretty good! We visited Seiya for my friend's birthday dinner, having made a reservation in advance. When we arrived, we were seated in a small private area, which was basically its own room - very cozy and comfortable. I skipped drinks and went straight to appetizers. We ordered the Seafood Risotto and Hamachi Carpaccio for the table, and Miso Soups all around. The Miso Soup was expectedly good - perfect for a cold, rainy evening. The Hamachi Carpaccio came with 5 pieces, so it was perfect to share as a group. While the fish was fresh, this dish wasn't the most memorable. The Seafood Risotto however, was fantastic. It had a generous amount of various seafood, and the texture of the risotto was perfect. Highly recommend this one! For our entree, my friend and I shared the Omakase Sashimi. It came with 5 different types of fish, 2 pieces each. Our favorite by far was the Fatty Tuna, which basically melted in your mouth. Others, like the Mackerel, were fine but not as impressive. Unsurprisingly, we were still hungry after this and ordered the Spicy Hulk Roll to share. It was pretty tasty, but Omakase really seemed to be their specialty. My other friend got the Spider Roll and Great Balls of Fire, and said both were just good, not amazing. At the end of the meal, our server brought out a Mango Mochi Ice Cream with a candle in it, as a birthday treat. This was a cute touch and the mochi was very tasty. Service was friendly but not particularly fast, and we spent 2+ hours at this dinner. Overall, Seiya is a good pick for a special occasion, if you're prepared for small portion sizes and a substantial price tag.

Great tasting sushi and Japanese food. Came here with a friend who's never been and we both agreed it was very good! Highly recommend reservations as it is a small place and can only accommodate a certain number of guests.
